Step
1: A Discovery Consultation and Analysis
Call
us to set up an appointment for a personal,
private consultation. For some clients, this
is a difficult step, as they are upset or embarrassed
at their current credit situation. We understand
that sometimes things happen in life that cause
us to be in a place that is beyond our control.
We see this every day and understand your need
for confidentiality and privacy. The consultation
is vital to beginning our program, and you need
to set aside time to take care of this very
important part of your financial picture. You
will need to plan for about 1 hour for this
meeting. This gives us time to pull a credit
report for you, analyze it and discuss certain
issues with you and set a realistic goal for
you to meet. We will go over your credit report
with you in detail and ask questions regarding
such. Phone consultations can be done only for
clients outside of the Greater Houston area.
Step
2: Your Strategy Session
At
the end of your consultation, you will set an
appointment to come back for a 2 hour session
for the actual strategy of your personalized
program. All of your questions about credit
will be answered, and you will even be taught
how to read a credit report. Questions will
be answered, personal strategies will be discussed
and a plan of action will be given. You should
bring something for taking notes, there will
be a vast amount of knowledge to be shared.
Try to come rested and prepared for 2 hours
of detailed information.
Step
3: Introduction To A Counselor
After
the consultation, you will be introduced to
your counselor who you will communicate with
by phone, fax and email for the duration of
the program. During this time you will be educated
in all areas of credit, i.e. balancing your
different accounts, managing your spending,
dealing with your creditors, etc. Your counselor
is here Monday through Friday for you to discuss
any credit or purchasing issues you may have.
We recommend that our clients keep in touch
with an open line of communication so we can
work closely in their behalf to help them reach
their goal.
Step
4: Credit Pulls and Updates
Your
first credit pull will happen during your consultation,
with the next one 90 days later with a progress
report. We have found that pulling a new report
before the 90 day mark does not always yield
much of a result, given that the credit bureaus
are always 30 days behind and it takes a bit
of time to get things moving. After the 90 day
mark, an update on your progress will be sent
every quarter. This will give you continual
updated information about your credit file while
you are in the program. If at any time you have
questions, please call your counselor.
Step
5: Reaching Your Goal
Everyone’s
credit is different so each person’s credit
report is different as well. Since our strategy
is based on your personal credit file, ONE SIZE
DOES NOT FIT ALL. Your strategy will not be
like any one else’s, therefore you may
reach your goal before your spouse, or after.
Most of our clients see score increases in 30
days; some even finish in 60 or 90 days. The
average time to reach a goal is 4 to 6 months.
Even though you may reach your goal, we still
keep you in our program, as we are continuing
to monitor your scores, sending you updates,
and are available to you for counseling and
advice. We are working for you so you can reach
your goal!
